Director Rafael Dragud, a former husband of Preta Gil, published a tribute to the singer, who died on Sunday 20, after more than two years to fight cancer. The two were married for eight years in the early 2000s.

Dragud wrote: “Pure sadness. Strange and simple. In depth we always think that life can surprise, and even against the whole prognosis, I felt a lock of hope: going that the treatment works, right? It would have been so beautiful! But … not … it was not it was.”
