Ex actor of Rede Globo dies

The actor Maurício Silveira, 48, died on Saturday (2) in Rio de Janeiro, after complications deriving from surgery to remove a tumor in the intestine. The confirmation was made by the family through a publication on his official Instagram profile at dawn on Sunday (3).

The surgery took place at the Municipal Hospital of Lourenço Jorge, in Barra da Tijuca, in the west of the capital of the state. After the initial procedure, Silveira suffered an infection that aggravated her clinical condition and had to undergo a new operation. Since then, he has remained hospitalized in an induced coma, but has not resisted medical complications.

The artist’s funeral was scheduled for Sunday morning (3), between 9:00 and 11 (Brasilia time), in chapel 6 of the cemetery of Jardim da Saudade, in Sulacap, also in the western area of Rio. In the days preceding death, family members had used social networks to ask for blood donations, demonstrating the severity of the actor’s clinical situation.

In addition to his trajectory on television, Maurício Silveira was a director and acted at the head of Mrs. Produçants, a company focused on theater and audiovisual. Among the most important theatrical performances of the manufacturer are the “Blue Man” and “I killed Nelson Rodrigues” shows, in which he also climbed on stage as an actor.

On television, his career was built with shows in different broadcasters. On TV Globo, he participated in Soap Opera as “Cobras & Lizards” (2006), “Make Your History” (2007) and “Foolish Heart” (2011). Already at the registration, he joined the cast of “Balacobaco” (2012) and the biblical series “Reis”, broadcast in recent years.

In social networks, friends and colleagues of the profession have complained about the loss. The actor Erik Marmo highlighted Silveira’s sensitivity and said: “My feelings for the family! Rest in peace! A boy of sensitivity a lot! I was lucky enough to work together with the theater”. Already the actress Katia Brandão wrote: “No word, in front of so much that she told us … it was a matter of loving us, respecting us, evaluating who we are. Friend, how much you miss you.”

Finally, Rodrigo Pandolfo also expressed his sadness, underlining the affectionate personality of his colleague: “Mauritius always illuminates our hearts on such a beautiful, so sensitive and loving path.
