San Paolo has secured a place in the quarterfinals of Libertadores by overcoming Atletico Nacional in case of penalties, in a game played on Tuesday (19), in Morumbis. The clash ended from 1 to 1 in normal time, with André Silva and Morelos’s goal, and was decided from 4 to 3 in the penalties.
The classification concluded the recent trauma of the club in rigor after eliminations against Botafogo and Athletic-Prip in previous competitions.
Faced with 57,559 fans, the public of the year of the stadium, the Portuguese Cédric converted the last charge, while Rafael defended one of the rhythms. The game was also marked by the expulsion of Cardona, who lost his head causing athletes from Sao Paulo shortly after the draw.

“I thanked all the players, the night we spent here, unforgettable, looking at the Morumbis crowded on the night of Libertadores. I am that boy who watched the TV and saw San Paolo de Telê, and being a protagonist, being on the bench, was a great emotion.”
