It may be a coincidence, but in the same week that Arthur Aguiar advertised a click farm, which buys engagement, followers, likes and comments on social networks, the company Meta, owner of Facebook and Instagram, filed a lawsuit against two companies. Brazilians like that (and their shareholders) at the 2nd Commercial Court of Sao Paulo.
The reason: MGM Marketing Digital and Igoo Networks would sell followers, likes and views on the social network. Exactly what the former BBB promoted, who denounced the post for being an infringement of Instagram guidelines.
This is the first time that Meta has made this offensive in Brazil.
The services simulate false engagement for users and contravene the terms of use of the platform. Meta also argues that national laws for the protection of software and intellectual property would also be violated.
The lawsuit asks the judiciary to prevent this type of activity in the country.
In addition to the two companies filed, another 40 have also been denounced out of court by Meta, for similar reasons, and will be prosecuted if they do not stop offering this type of service.
Click farms have grown exponentially in Brazil, according to the researchers, as the country has a high demand for influencers (or wannabes) and quick and easy income talk that’s very interesting in the context of high unemployment rates. But the reality is very different from the advertised one.
Since “Faturando com or Insta” published by Arthur Aguiar was also advertised by other influencers, many people took over the service, which quickly became the focus of numerous complaints and allegations in Reclame Aqui.
Seriously guys, don’t you have any friends to warn? pic.twitter.com/gQOTrF6Qmq
