“You don’t know how hard it is to be a woman and sing the things I sing. You have no idea the things I’ve heard for a long time, since I started. I never had anyone’s support. Even so, on my own, I believed in myself, I believed that this would get me somewhere, that I would get my independence. So it happened,” Carol began through tears.
“My work is not seen as work, it’s seen as fun, as bad. There’s no point in what I do or what I say. I even gave some interviews saying that I was getting into acting so I could get more respect, but black women, in art, in music and in acting, don’t get respect. People don’t know how to separate what is the artist on stage and the person,” the artist added.
Carol said she has already thought about moving abroad and working in non-art related businesses because of the criticism she receives. The funk singer also revealed that she is also criticized by people close to her.

“I’m exhausted and exhausted. I feel like I’m fighting a never-ending war. You know that strong person who everyone asks for help when they need it? That person is me, strong, responsible and available 24 hours a day for everyone, but today I needed to cry and get it out. I’ve heard it all in this life. I’ve heard from people who depend on me that my money is dirty, that my money is from the devil, that the devil gave me my house and my car, that there is no point in having it in the palace, if I don’t do it, I’ve finished school.”
This Friday 10th, one day after the outburst, the singer returned to social media to thank her for the messages of support she received, even from famous people, such as Ludmilla and the actor Raphael Logam, with whom she starred in the series. Unclean.
“Thank you so much for all the messages of affection, understanding and support. I’m looking at so many beautiful things, I try to read everything I receive, but there are so many people. I’ve never received so many messages of affection like this. All I have to do is thank you”, said Carol.
