Art students will have to study the singer’s work; to know more
After receiving her Doctor of Fine Arts degree from New York University in the United States in May, Taylor Swift has another academic novelty: her own course, The Taylor Swift Songbook. As announced by the University of Texas, the project on the work of the singer will be included starting from September in the schedule of the new students of the artistic program.
according to New York postEnglish teacher Elizabeth Scala, responsible for teaching the course, praises the artist: “An intelligent and talented songwriter, and her writing skills are what made me focus on her.”
The university’s English department explains that the idea is “to provide an introduction to literary studies and research methods that use Taylor Swift’s songwriting as the basis for teaching a wide range of skills.”
The singer, however, is not the only one to be the title of a university course. In addition to her, spring 2023 music students will study Harry Styles, in a course on European identity, the internet and pop culture.
