Actress Regina Duarte was cursed on Saturday night (29/10) when she decided to attend the play “Club da Esquina: Os Sonhos Não Envelhecem” at the Teatro Liberdade, in Sao Paulo.
Although the show has a musical theme, it takes place during the military dictatorship and criticizes the regime, which Regina Duarte defended in an infamous CNN interview when she was still the Bolsonaro government’s secretary of culture. She was even prosecuted for apologizing for the crimes of the dictatorship.
To the cries of “Bolsonaro out” and “this is not your place”, the former Secretary of Culture responded with a yellow smile, kisses and poses. She also showed and waved a cell phone with a Bolsonaro campaign sticker, as if he was filming what happened. In a social media account, she only posted a print of the moment she appears smiling.
Despite the insults, she did not suffer any aggression.
Regina Duarte left the Jair Bolsonaro government after an intense frying process and with the promise that she would head the Cinemateca Brasileira, which she did not. She the actress broke a 50-year contract with Tv Globo to take over the Special Secretariat for Culture, at the request of Bolsonaro, and was fired after just two months.
