The Miss Grand International (MGI) world beauty pageant made LGBTQIAP + history. Models Mariana Varela and Fabiola Valentín – Miss Argentina and Miss Puerto Rico respectively -, who faced each other in the 2020 edition of the awards, announced their wedding on social media over the weekend.
The relationship remained secret until the two revealed their new marital status. They met backstage at the beauty pageant. In the 2020 dispute, Mariana and Fabiola were among the 10 semifinalists.
“After we decided to keep our relationship private, we opened the doors to him on a special day,” the two models wrote in a joint post on Instagram, revealing the date of their wedding. The official union took place last Friday (28/10), when the models celebrated their wedding at the San Juan Judicial Center in Puerto Rico.
In the video, the models shared a series of images showing their love story. In one of the moments, Fabiola asks for the Argentine’s hand in a room decorated with balloons and lights.

This year, Miss Grand International was won by a Brazilian, Isabella Menin, from Marília, in the interior of Sao Paulo. The heart took place last Tuesday (25/10) in Jakarta, Indonesia, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the competition, which takes place in Thailand.
