Jane Fonda says she’s ready to die amidst cancer treatment

Actress Jane Fonda (“Grace & Frankie”), who is battling cancer at the age of 84, said she was ready to die in an interview with the program “Entertainmente Tonigt”.

The subject was her birthday and her long history as an activist. “For better or for worse, celebrities bring attention to certain causes. I won’t be here much longer; we need to get celebrities on these issues,” she began.

“When you get to my age, you better be aware of the amount of time you have behind you and the amount of time ahead of you. I mean, it’s just being realistic. I’m not afraid to walk away. I’m ready,” he stated.

The star added, “I’ve had a great life. Not that I want to leave, but I know it will eventually.”

Jane Fonda was diagnosed in March of this year with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer that originates in cells of the lymphatic system and has a high cure rate: 80% of patients survive the disease.

When she disclosed the illness in September, she said she was “privileged” to have health insurance, unlike many Americans, and said the diagnosis woke her up to the realities of her age.

“Cancer is a teacher and I am heeding the lessons it holds for me. One thing it has already shown me is the importance of community. To grow and deepen community so that we are not alone. And Cancer, along with my age – nearly 85 – definitely teaches the importance of adapting to new realities,” he explained.

Since the end of the “Grace & Frankie” series in April on Netflix, Jane Fonda has already filmed the comedies “Moving On”, Paul Weitz’s (“A Great Boy”), which premiered at the Toronto Festival, “80 for Brady “, which opens in February, and the sequel to “Do Jeito que Elas Querem” (2018), due out in May 2023.
