Not Saint Diana: The princess’ fight with paparazzi and other non-royal antics

Many believe the late Princess Diana was a saint and spotless. Of course, that’s not true.

It seems like millions of people around the world will never let Princess Diana’s life down. The “Queen of Hearts” has not been with us for many years, but her life – short and bright – is discussed to this day.

People consider her a saint, William and Harry say she was a real child until the last day of her life. And she was not perfect, which shocks more than one. Like anyone, Lady Dee has made many mistakes. We are talking about the most “non-royal”.

Fight with the paparazzi

Journalists and photographers followed Princess Diana everywhere. In January 1989, as she relaxes with her sons on a private Pointed Necker, Lady Dee can’t take it anymore and decides to put off the paparazzi. Reporters and photographers entered the territory, bypassing the guards, and his patience ran out. William suggested throwing water balloons at the bad guys, and Diana not only agreed, but also tied rubber bands to trees like a slingshot.

Jumped out of a 2nd story window

The constant media attention pushed Princess Diana to reckless acts. So, already after the divorce from Prince Charles, on the next vacation with the children, Lady Di wanted to be alone, but it was not possible to just leave the hotel and go for a walk – the caretaker would certainly follow her. Or caught by the paparazzi. And then Diana decided… to jump out the second story window. Fortunately, there was a snowdrift below, and yet his act was very reckless: the princess could land unsuccessfully and be seriously injured. But the desire for freedom was stronger.

Be like everyone else

Princess Diana has always dreamed of a normal life. In the spring of 1989, she decided to travel economy class, believing that jeans, a t-shirt and a blazer would make her unrecognizable. But it wasn’t there. Naturally, queuing at the check-in counter, the princess was immediately surrounded by a crowd, and the guards had to scramble to deal with the situation. The situation was heating up and Lady Dee looked with pleading eyes at her bodyguard to pull her out of the crowd. Luckily, he had an “escape” plan, but even in those few minutes, Diana realized how wrong her desire to be like everyone else was.
