A fire hit the scenic town of “Todas as Flores” in Estúdios Globo, this afternoon. The former Projac is located in Jacarepaguá, in the west area of Rio.
According to a press release from the broadcaster, the causes are still being investigated.
“There were no professionals at the scene of the fire and there were no injuries. The fire was put out by the Globo Fire Department and firefighters from the 12th Fire Brigade Battalion, who are still at the scene” , reads the note.
According to sources from the O Globo newspaper, the recordings of “Todas as Flores” were in full swing this Friday (11/18), but, at the time of the fire, the team was having lunch.
The official press release guarantees that the fire will have no impact on the production of the soap opera, “since the interior of the set affected by the fire, the Rhodes shop [& Co. Tailleur]is reproduced in the studio”.
Coincidence or not, the Rhodes & Co. Business Suit also suffered a fire in the “All the Flowers” storyline itself.
The scene takes place in the 14th chapter of João Emanuel Carneiro’s novel, when Patsy (Suzy Rêgo) discovers a betrayal and hits a light frame with a bottle of drink.
However, fiction was crueler than real life. Two characters die in the episode, Guiomar (Ana Beatriz Nogueira) and Raulzito (Nilton Bicudo).
Another curious fact is that the fire took place in the same place where the flames destroyed the scenic city of “Deus Salve o Rei” (2018). At the time, the studio concerned housed the sets for the telenovela castles.
