Actor Thiago Rodrigues, who starred in 16 soap operas for Globo, was beaten by robbers until he passed out late Saturday night (10/12) in Baixo Gávea, a well-known bohemian region in Rio’s south zone de Janeiro. He was surrounded by five thieves, who tried to steal his belongings shortly after he left a bar. The case was reported by journalist Ancelmo Gois’ column in the O Globo newspaper.
When he was surrounded, Thiago still tried to escape from the criminals, but ended up being overtaken and attacked. He said he only realized he’d been robbed when he’d already been beaten to the ground. The bandits stole the actor’s cell phone.
According to the column, Thiago was unconscious throughout the night and only woke up at dawn. Seriously wounded, mainly in the head, he received first aid from a woman who had arrived to exhibit her products at the antiques fair in Praça Santos Dumont. Then he went to the Miguel Couto hospital in Gávea. After being tested and given bandages, he was discharged.
Until last month, Thiago Rodrigues was working on a soap opera in Portugal (“Quero É Viver”). In Brazil his best known works are “Páginas da Vida”, “Guerra dos Sexos”, “Além do Horizonte”, “A Favorita” and “Tempos Modernos”.
He made his TV debut in 2004 with a special appearance in the miniseries “Um Só Coração”. The following year he starred in the season of “Malhação”, alongside Fernanda Vasconcellos, with whom he is again a romantic couple in the soap opera “Tempos Modernos” in 2012.
Since 2018, the actor has alternated between working in Brazil and Portugal, and has also started starring in soap operas Record, such as ‘Amor sem Igual’ and ‘Genesis’.
