Joelma, 48, had a difficult childhood before achieving professional success. Religion was crucial for Joelma to stop feeling hatred towards her father. He wanted to forgive him, but he was able to do it only after fasting for seven days.

“I didn’t know how to forgive and I felt something horrible for my father, really hate. I told God I wanted to forgive him, but I couldn’t, that it had to be something from the heart. I prayed a lot, fasted for seven days and I called. I managed to get rid of all the bad feeling, it was the best thing I did in my life, ”he said.

In addition to his intimate life in childhood, the artist has commented on his relationship with music. Although he followed this path, I didn’t want to be: I dreamed of being a lawyer and graduating.

“Nobody in my family had one. I was addicted to the law and things didn’t go well. When I got involved in music, everything flowed. Until, at 23, I decided to let music enter my life forever” , he revealed.

Recently, Joelma has revealed health issues. She said she suffered three blows to the eyes and a cardiac arrest.

“Guys, I had three blows to my eyes, some heart attacks. No one knows. I go alone, but He is my strength. In Him I can do everything,” she said at a show in São Paulo.
