Singer Preta Gil, 48, has been diagnosed with bowel cancer. The revelation was given by the artist herself through a statement released on the night of Tuesday 10.
“I have adenocarcinoma in the final part of the intestine. I start my treatment next Monday and I count on everyone’s energy to remain calm and confident,” informed the artist who spent six days hospitalized at the Clínica São Vicente, in the area south of Rio in January.
Preta sought medical assistance on January 5 after experiencing severe abdominal pain. After hospitalization, she underwent a series of tests until she was diagnosed. The singer came to reassure the fans. “I don’t want you to be concerned, I am looked after very well by a medical team. I am surrounded by my family and closest friends, and I am confident that whatever it is, we will treat it and I will be fine,” she said.
