Delphine Arnault takes over as part of a revamp at LVMH, Europe’s most valuable company
She is the daughter of the richest man in the world and will now manage Dior.
Delphine Arnault, the eldest daughter of billionaire Bernard Arnault, was chosen by him to take on this role.
Bernard Arnault is the current chairman and chief executive of the LVMH luxury goods group, which includes Dior itself and Louis Vuitton and is worth an estimated £336 billion. He toppled Elon Musk as the world’s richest man in December 2022.
Delphine, 47, has been vice president of Louis Vuitton since 2013 and will now replace Pietro Beccari, who will take over the leadership of Louis Vuitton from Michael Burke.
The appointment is part of a series of reorders at the top of Europe’s most valuable conglomerate, in which the founder’s five sons hold senior positions.
Both Beccari and Delphine Arnault “are quite respected,” so these are “logical promotions within the group,” said Natasha Brilliant, an analyst at Credit Suisse.
The changes, which will take effect from February, were announced following the recent appointment of Antoine Arnault, eldest son of Bernard Arnault, to head the family holding company.
Alexandre Arnault, 30, is head of products and communications at Tiffany, while Frederic Arnault, 28, is CEO of another brand in the group, Tag Heuer.
The youngest son, Jean Arnault, 24, heads marketing and product development for Louis Vuitton’s watch division.

Arnault’s businesses sell high-end items, including Louis Vuitton luxury handbags and Moet and Chandon champagne.
“Succession planning across strategic roles has been central to the success of LVMH’s top brands over the past 20 years, so today’s moves are significant,” said Thomas Chauvet, an analyst at Citi.
sales records
Delphine Arnault will leave the position of executive vice president of Louis Vuitton, a position she has held since 2013, to take the helm of Dior.
Louis Vuitton has set new sales records under Arnault’s leadership, according to LVMH.

Fashion giant Inditex, which owns brands like Zara and Massimo Dutti, named the founder’s daughter its new president in 2021. Marta Ortega was 37 at the time.
At the helm of the Prada brand, Patrizio Bertelli recently announced that he hopes to pass command of the company to his son Lorenzo within two years.
