Elizabeth II became a mother four times, but her subjects almost never saw her pregnant. How is it possible?

Elizabeth and Prince Philip lived together for 73 happy years. The couple became parents four times, but there are hardly any photographs showing the Queen being pregnant. How is it possible? Since the monarch was almost always in public!

It turned out that even when Elizabeth was still a princess and became pregnant with her first child, she was not allowed to bring the good news to the nation. At the time, Buckingham Palace only said that “Her Royal Highness Princess Elizabeth would not be making any public engagements after the end of June”. And only then did the British find out why.

And you can’t tell the monarch is pregnant, can you? Elizabeth II skillfully hid her interesting position. At first, she preferred dresses and jackets with peplum. In the midst of pregnancy, she minimized her appearance in public as much as possible and on rare occasions wore bulky coats, which is why many were unaware of the impending restocking.

The Queen gave birth to all of her children within the grounds of Buckingham Palace, and it was not until Princess Diana that the tradition began to use maternity services.
