Richer than Trump: What do we know about the world’s youngest (and most mysterious) billionaire?

Currently, the first line of the ranking of the youngest billionaires according to Forbes is occupied by the German Kevin Lehmann, 20 years old. Lehmann’s net worth in 2021 was estimated at $3.4 billion, making him richer than Donald Trump (who was “only” $3.2 billion then), but Kevin’s net worth is now around $2.4 billion, according to the latest Forbes data.

He is the heir to a large family business, the DM pharmacy and hardware store chain, founded in 1973. Today there are 3,700 such outlets in Germany. The network provides 41,000 jobs. According to sources, the company earns more than $12 billion a year.

Kevin joined the ranks of the super-rich when he was still a teenager. His father, Günter Lehmann, gave his son his share in the company when he was 14 years old. But until the guy came of age, hired employees managed the assets. Lehmann Jr. turned 18 in September 2020 and has since owned a 50% equity stake in the company. However, they say that neither Kevin nor his father are actively involved in company activities. It is quite difficult to know for sure – the two do not seek publicity, do not run social networks and do not give interviews. Günther Lehmann at one point did not even want to comment on the transfer of shares from his son to the serious publication Wirtschaftswoche.
