Greek singer Dimitris Kokotas has died at the age of 57 on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, following a long health battle.
Kokotas had been hospitalized at the G. Gennimatas General Hospital for more than two years after suffering an acute myocardial infarction and cardiac arrest on March 28, 2024. The medical emergency occurred while he was participating in rehearsals for the television music show J2US.
Shortly after news of his death was announced, Greek actress Traiana Anania shared a tribute on her personal Instagram account. Anania had performed alongside Kokotas on the music show, which marked one of his final artistic appearances before his illness.

Anania posted a video snippet of the pair singing together on stage during their shared television appearance. She accompanied the footage with a personal message expressing her affection for the late singer and sending condolences to his wife, Katerina. She added that she had nothing more to say because he already understood, proposing that they meet again in the heavens to perform many more duets together. Anania concluded her post by offering a supportive embrace to Kokotas's wife during her time of loss.
