Disney considers free streaming tier
In addition to the viewing figures, Disney chief executive Josh D'Amaro confirmed that the company is studying the launch of a free account on Disney+.
D'Amaro said the company was studying the introduction of a free account option to attract new users and expand the reach of the service. He noted that Disney had not set a launch date or finalized a concrete proposal for how the unpaid service would operate.

Disney is evaluating several options to allow non-subscribers to view selected content. One option gaining traction is the integration of Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television, known as FAST channels, inside the Disney+ platform.
The FAST model is already used by platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, offering free programming funded by advertising. Under the proposed structure, free users would access a limited selection of movies, television series, pilot episodes, or rotating content.
This approach mirrors a strategy recently introduced in Spain by television platform Movistar Plus. Disney aims for free access to function as a gateway to the platform, introducing viewers to its library before encouraging them to pay for a subscription.
Disney catalog and TikTok pilot
The potential free tier would leverage Disney's extensive entertainment assets. The streaming service hosts content from Marvel, Star Wars, FOX, Disney, and Pixar, giving it a strong competitive advantage over rival streaming services.
Disney has also formed a new strategic alliance with social video platform TikTok. The partnership will allow creators to produce videos using official characters from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and other Disney franchises.
The TikTok project will launch initially as a pilot program in the United States. Disney plans to evaluate the performance of the American trial before deciding whether to expand the program to international markets.
