SkyShowtime has launched new six-month subscription options and detailed its lineup of 34 thematic channels in Spain, offering savings of up to 24 percent compared to monthly billing.
The new semi-annual billing option is available across all three of the platform's subscription tiers: Standard with ads, Standard, and Premium. The format gives subscribers an intermediate payment choice between monthly and annual commitments.
SkyShowtime is a joint-venture streaming service operating across European markets, including Spain, providing access to television series, feature films, and original programming.
According to reporting by Mundoplus.tv, all 34 thematic channels are included in regular SkyShowtime subscriptions at no additional cost for users in Spain.
How the 34 thematic channels work
Unlike traditional linear television networks or FAST channels, SkyShowtime's thematic channels operate as playlists of on-demand content structured around a pre-arranged broadcast schedule. When a subscriber selects a channel, such as the feed dedicated to The Office, the platform plays the episode scheduled for that timeslot, but playback always begins at the start of the episode.
The system aims to recreate the experience of traditional television broadcasting while reducing the time viewers spend deciding what content to watch. SkyShowtime is also considering renaming the Channels feature in the platform interface, testing alternative titles including Déjate llevar, Dale play, 24/7, and Ver ahora, although no official change has been confirmed.
The channel lineup spans specific series, major franchises, film genres, children's entertainment, documentaries, and seasonal selections. Featured programming includes dedicated feeds for shows such as Frasier, House, Star Trek, and titles from the Yellowstone universe, alongside broader categories covering comedy, horror, Spanish cinema, and blockbuster movies.

New six-month subscription pricing structure
SkyShowtime introduced the six-month payment format to bridge the gap between monthly subscriptions and annual plans. Previously, the platform focused on annual discounts that allowed customers to receive twelve months of access for the price of eight. The new six-month plans offer savings of up to 24 percent compared to standard monthly payments across all three subscription tiers.
The entry-level Standard with Ads plan retains its monthly price of 5.99 euros. Under the new six-month option, the tier costs 26.99 euros, which reduces the equivalent monthly price to 4.49 euros. The annual rate remains 47.99 euros, equivalent to 3.99 euros per month. This plan includes access to the full catalog with advertising in Full HD quality on a single stream.
The Standard plan remains priced at 8.99 euros per month. The new six-month option costs 39.99 euros, lowering the effective monthly rate to 6.66 euros. The annual subscription remains 71.99 euros, or 5.99 euros per month. The tier provides ad-free viewing in Full HD quality, playback on up to two devices simultaneously, and up to 30 monthly offline downloads.
The top-tier Premium plan is priced at 13.99 euros per month, while the new six-month option costs 61.99 euros, reducing the equivalent monthly cost to 10.33 euros. The annual option is priced at 109.99 euros, equivalent to 9.16 euros per month. Premium subscribers receive 4K UHD resolution, Dolby Atmos sound, streaming on up to five devices concurrently, and up to 100 monthly downloads, depending on title and device compatibility.
