Ant-Man: Which characters return in the new Marvel movie?

The time is coming! “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania” premieres February 16 in cinemas throughout Brazil. The new feature film wonder studies officially begins Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and features the return of former MCU heroes, as well as focusing on introducing new characters. Scott Lang Paul Rudd




“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania” is the third film starring Scott Lang/Ant-Man. In the new production, the hero is recognized for his efforts in the last missions, but ends up returning to the quantum world after a failed experience. To get back to his normal life, he ends up relying on a villain who can take away everything he loves most.

Scott Lang is played by Paul Rudd, an actor known worldwide for his solo films in the MCU, in addition to his important role in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019). The actor is also the star of classic films like ‘The 40-Year-Old Virgin’ (2005) and ‘The Princesses of Beverly Hills’ (1995), as well as being confirmed for the new season of ‘Only Murders in the Building “, an exclusive series of Star+.

Hope Van Dyne Evangeline Lilly



In the new movie marvel studios, the Vespa is once again played by Evangeline Lilly. The character, who is a great partner to Scott Lang, was another one that helped take down Thanos, one of the MCU’s major villains. Now, Hope Van Dyne is another one who ends up accidentally sent to the quantum world and together with her family tries to find a way out of there.

Evangeline Lilly is an actress recognized worldwide for her character Kate Austen, from the acclaimed television series “Lost” (2004 – 2010). He has also participated in productions such as “Giants of Steel” (2011), “War on Terror” (2008), the saga “Hobbit” (2012) and other Marvel Studios productions such as “Ant-Man” (2015), “Ant- Man and the Wasp” (2018) and “Avengers: Endgame” (2019).

Hank Pym (Michael Douglas)



Dr. Hank Pym is a physicist who developed the Ant-Man suit after discovering the Pym Particles, subatomic particles of an extra-dimensional nature that are capable of adding or subtracting mass to any form of matter. He was the first Ant-Man, but – after losing his wife of many years and retiring from heroism – he teams up with his daughter Hope and perfects the suit in an attempt to find a new hero (Scott Lang) who you wear it. Seeming to have a stabilized life, Hank is also sent to the quantum world and this time he doesn’t want to lose his family again.

Michael Douglas is the actor who portrays Hank and is recognized worldwide for winning the Academy Award® for Best Actor for his performance in the film “Wall Street” (1987). Douglas also participated in such productions as ‘Basic Instinct’ (1992) and ‘A Day of Fury’ (1993).

Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer)



Janet Van Dyne is Hope’s mother and Hank’s wife. After spending 30 years trapped in the quantum world, she learns many unimaginable things from this other reality and – after being trapped with her other family members – she becomes a key player in getting them out of there.

Michelle Pfeiffer plays the character “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania”. Known as one of the leading actresses of the last century, she participated in other highly successful productions such as ‘Grease 2 – The Times of Brilhantina Returned’ (1982), ‘Scarface’ (1983) and ‘Dangerous Minds’ (1985).

Kang (Jonathan Majors)



Nathaniel Richards is a 31st century scientist who discovered the existence of the Multiverse and its alternate selves. Seeking to conquer as many worlds as possible, he initiated the Multiversal War, becoming known as Kang the Conqueror. After an unsuccessful conquest of space, he was isolated in an alternate timeline. However, when Sylvie Laufeydottir in the series “Loki” (2021) kills one of the variants of him, Kang returns and becomes the new mortal ruler.

In “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”, the new big bad wonder studies is played by Jonathan Majors. In addition to participating in “Loki”, he is also the protagonist of the “Lovecraft Country” series.

Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton)



Cassie Lang is the daughter of Scott Lang and will play a very important role in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania”. The audience got acquainted with her in the first films of the hero, but she was still a child. Now she’s an intelligent teenager who has developed a new quantum machine, which accidentally takes her, her father, Hope, Hank and Janet to another universe.

Kathryn Newton plays Cassie Lang. The 25-year-old actress has starred in other productions such as ‘Paranormal Activity 4’ (2012) and the series ‘The Society’.

Peyton Reed (director)



Although he does not actually appear in the film, we cannot fail to mention one of the main responsible for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania”. Peyton Tucker Reed is the acclaimed director of the new production of wonder studies and was also the one who directed the first two films of the franchise: ‘Ant-Man’ (2015) and ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ (2018). In addition, he has produced and scripted several film and television productions, being known for directing comedies such as “The Love Bug” (1997), “Separated by Marriage” (2006) and “Yes Sir” (2008).

“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania” opens exclusively in theaters February 16.
