No scandalous stories concerning the royal family in Great Britain (Prince Harry has distinguished himself in this part recently) can cancel one thing – the accession to the throne of Charles III and his wife Camilla. The solemn ceremony, but which, according to all traditions, they will be proclaimed king and queen consort, will take place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey. In the meantime, intensive preparations are underway for the big event, which is a little less than three months away. And on the eve of Buckingham Palace presented its results – the official emblem of the coronation, filled with powerful personal symbolism.

Embossed with a floral motif, this round badge is the creation of legendary Apple product designer John Ive and his LoveFrom creative team. And each element in this image is not accidental. As explained in the palace, the flowers decorating the emblem symbolize the king’s love for the natural world, uniting the flora of the four peoples of Great Britain: the rose – England, the thistle – Scotland, the daffodil – Wales and the shamrock – Northern Ireland. The plants are folded into a St. Edward’s crown to be used at the coronation. As for the choice of colors, they are easy to decipher – the emblem was designed using the red, white and blue colors of the UK flag.
