“I hope it proves helpful and that I, like many other victims, have access to justice. I know my case of being caught so quickly is rare. I’d like to bury this story and pretend it never happened, but it’s not so it corresponds to what I myself predict”.
Then, the actress said that she was returning to São Paulo after visiting her boyfriend in Rio de Janeiro when she was subjected to the harassment. She added that the trip was delayed due to a landslide in the Serra das Araras, also known as Via Dutra.
“A gentleman, old enough to be my father and possibly grandfather, harassed me verbally and sexually, during a journey that had already taken 12 hours and we were all exhausted,” said Jade, who received immediate treatment.
“I was welcomed by the passengers, the police and the company, but I keep wondering what I could have done to avoid it, feeling helpless,” Jade vented about the situation in which she was a victim.
“Special thanks to the four passengers who decided to go to the police station to testify with me and, for this reason, gave up their commitments to go and seek justice with me. Like me, they had to give up work in the face of amazement and indignation”.
Finally, Jade Mascarenhas said that the passengers stood by her during the 14-hour journey and another 3 hours at the police station. “I leave this report here as you report, together with the film of one of the passengers. I am accompanied and supported by fantastic people, and I hope this story has a right ending,” she concluded.
