The model describes the darkest moment of her life, but celebrates the recognition for having paraded in the carnivals of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro




Erika Schneider, 32, is an affable and easy-going woman. A former dancer of Faustão he rarely wipes the smile off his face in public. It is the same that the public should see on Saturday 18 at Anhembi and Sunday 19 at Sapucaí.

The dancer is the muse of Águia de Ouro (SP) and Mocidade de Padre Miguel (RJ), and has already spent a small fortune on the revelry. Between plane tickets, accommodation, food and costumes, she estimates that she invested around R $ 100,000 for the “magic” to happen. Despite her high worth, she does not regret it.

“I’m very happy to be able to show. Now it’s time to work to cover the costs,” she says amused.

Out of respect for the family, Erika is not prepared to expose her privacy, nor her history. Daughter of Paraiba with a German doctor, Erika Schneider was born in Recife, the capital of Pernambuco, but still in early childhood the family moved to the hinterland of São Paulo, where she grew up. Before getting married, her mother, Carmelita, was a housekeeper and ended up falling in love with the son of one of her bosses, Bertan. The love story began in Europe and faced prejudices due to economic, social and ethnic differences.

“My mother and her sister, that is nun, had a very painful life. They lost their parents early and had to work. Without support, they suffered all kinds of discrimination,” recalls Erika, in an interview with Earth.

When Bertan finished his studies at Germany, married Carmelita. In married life, the couple had to face some hardships to support themselves. Although she studied medicine, the father of Erika he was not well, and as the years went by he began to have “outbursts” and mood swings, which made it difficult for him to live indoors.

“He was yelling and breaking things. It was scary, pretty crazy stuff,” she adds.

Although her father is currently in treatment and her parents live in a healthy relationship, Erika recalls starting work at a young age due to weakness caused by schizophrenia in Bertan. In pre-adolescence, for example, she already worked as a baby monitor at an event buffet, but she didn’t even receive R $ 50 reais per party.

The dream comes true with the help of a priest

At the age of 15, his paternal uncle, that is priest, has decided to give her a “little push” to make her dream come true: to live in Germany. There, however, Erika experienced one of the darkest moments in its history. She alone, she suffered from depression and thought of taking her own life.

“My uncle always helped me with my father’s problems. At the time, I explained to him that I wanted to go to Germany for problems at home. He helped me get my citizenship and I stayed there with my grandmother. I worked as a a I used to babysit and earn good money, but when my grandmother died it was a very difficult time for me. […] I was left alone on a distant continent, away from everything and everyone I knew. During that time I had depression and, Madonna, I also thought about it [suicídio]”, he reveals.

It was at that moment that Erika Schneider he began to live in the house of some distant relatives. After passing through two or three houses, visiting her uncle-priest in the countryside, the two talked and she was persuaded to return to the countryside. Brazil. The model sees her return as something more than positive: “It was a rescue.”

Aiming for a better future for her family, she models it she graduated in business administration and human resources and at the same time devoted herself to dance. It didn’t take her long and she was presented with an opportunity to join the Faustao balletfamous for elevating its dancers to star status.

During his years as Fausto dancer, Erika shone. After her passage through the program, she invested in a modeling career, worked as a casual reporter on Record and RedeTV!, presented audiovisual projects, was part of the cast of The farm and now it is preparing for another marathon of challenges: parading in the Carnival of São Paulo and Rio, as well as hosting three booths, one of which is in Salvador (BA).

To withstand this battery of events, the influencer she followed a lightly restrictive diet, without a lot of sweets, but with a lot of food, she says. In her routine she does not leave out training or private samba lessons.

An expert dancer, she explains that the sambas of Rio and São Paulo are different and that reinforcement is always welcome. The only problem she has encountered is the lack of rest.

“I’m living on coffee,” he laughs. “Sleep was really the hardest part, besides the short time. I’m anxious and sometimes I don’t sleep. But then I plan to have a nice vacation.”

The São Paulo samba schools of the Special Group performed on February 17 and 18. A Golden Eagle cross the avenue on Saturday 18, it will be the Friday evening parade. In Rio de Janeiro, the Special Group parades on the 19th and 20th. Independent Youth of Father Miguel he will parade on Sunday 19 and will be the third to enter the Marquês de Sapucaí.
