Rafael Araneda, of Enamorando, was involved in an accident while riding a bicycle on February 19 at the corner of Indian Trace Street and the Saddle Club in Weston, Florida.
Marcela Vacarezza, wife of the 53-year-old presenter, said the Chilean contacted her at around 12.30pm to inform her that he had been beaten. “Rafael was riding his bike and a guy ran through a Stop sign leaving a shopping area. A lady who saw it all told me that (Araneda) flew,” the former beauty queen said in an interview with Las ultimas noticias newspaper this Tuesday.
Rafael Araneda was unconscious after the accident
The Enamorandonos presenter lost consciousness after the impact, but the helmet he was wearing saved his life: “Thank God it was holstered, otherwise we won’t count it,” Vacaretza said.
Rafael Aranenda was taken to the hospital and there “they did all the routine tests”. Although no fractures were found, he suffered “a lot of bruising”.
At the moment the Univision show host is out of danger: “He is already home with rest. It is very difficult for him to get up and walk, but it is obvious because of the strong impact on the pavement. It is not known how long it will take before he can walk normally again,” his wife explained.
The driver who pulled over Rafael Araneda looked for the presenter
After the incident, the police “already had” the driver of the car that hit Araneda. “I imagine the police report will clarify the situation and obviously there are costs to cover because there was damage,” said Marcela Vacarezza.
According to the TV presenter, the person responsible for the accident “seemed very upset” and wrote to Rafael Aranenda to find out how he is doing.

Ana Patricia, who hosts Falling in love with Rafael Araneda, said during the February 20 show that the host is “out of danger” but will need “some time to recover and come here again.”
