The English actress who we will soon see again as Nebula in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3’ has taken a year to make her marriage public.
‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘Jumanji’ or ‘Doctor Who’ are some of the big names that have made Karen Gillan a star. However, the public has found out about her marriage almost nine months after the link.
The actress married American comedian Nick Kocher nine months ago, at Castle Toward in Scotland.
Neither of them mentioned it on social media at the time, but now, Gillan has acknowledged their marriage in an Instagram post that’s made up of three photos: one of her in a large white dress, another showing a man touching the bagpipes and what appear to be her two bridesmaids, actress Katie Parker and director Mali Elfman.
“Last May…” Gillan wrote in the caption of the post, tagging the wedding photographer, Holly Clark.
Clark posted another photo of Gillan on the morning of their wedding day. She captioned it: “Gorgeous @karengillan on the morning of her wedding day.” She also clarified more about the situation of this event, of which she made a photographic work that she has been slow to share with her followers (and potential clients of hers) of hers.
Details of Karen’s Scottish celebrations will remain private, however of course Karen looked absolutely amazing and the speeches were some of the funniest we’ve ever heard!
Wedding producer Sarah Haywood shared one of Gillan’s photos on her own Instagram page, writing in the caption:
What an adventure! Scottish wedding of the beautiful, incredibly talented and funny @Karengillan and her hilarious husband… A big shout out to a dream team who met every challenge with grace and enthusiasm, thanks for keeping it a secret all this time… The team work really makes the dream work!
Judging by the wedding organizers and the photographer, the truth is that the link seems to have been quite an event. Which again highlights how strange it is that an event of this magnitude has remained a secret all this time. The actress recently opened up about her excitement about her new film, the comedy ‘Late Bloomers,’ which is playing at the South by Southwest Festival next month.
There is more expectation with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, which will hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
