Becky G., Ed Sheeran, El King, Miranda Lambert and Travis Scott have been selected for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, NBC and producers MRC said Monday.
The show, directed by Sean “Big” Combs, will honor the year’s best artists on the Billboard charts across 62 categories in a variety of music genres. The show will air nationwide from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 15 at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT on NBC and live on Peacock.
Artists will join the lineup, which includes previously announced artists such as Burna Boy, Florence + The Machine, Latto, Maxwell, Megan Thee Stallion, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Silk Sonic.
Maria J. Blige was nominated for an Icon Award during the ceremony, while Marie Kopen will receive her third annual Changemaker Award.
Becky G will make her BBMA debut on the Xfinity stage, while Sheeran will perform in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where she is in the middle. + – = ÷x Stadium tour (pronounced “math tour”).
Lambert and King will reveal it together. They will leave the MGM Grand with Scott.
The Weeknd leads the shortlist with a total of 17 nominations.
