The ‘Friends’ stars reunited at Courteney Cox’s tribute on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“I’ll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour”
“I’ll be there for you when the rain starts to fall“, said the song by The Rembrandts in the intro of ‘Friends’, one of the best comedy series in history. And its protagonists fulfilled it. Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow accompanied, despite the rain, their partner and friend Courteney Cox at his Star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored actress, producer and director Courteney Cox with the 2750th Star on the Walk of Fame on a cloudy and rainy Monday, where her ex-colleagues in ‘Friends’ wrapped her up, showing off several decades of friendship.
“We are very honored to be here today to speak on your behalf, as her co-workers, friends, relatives… Like her sisters. We’ve known them for a long time,” Aniston began, and Kudrow added: “It’s been like this since we met almost 30 years ago.Aniston joked that that figure, 30, was surely “a typo,” but Kudrow assured her that no, it wasn’t.
“To be friends with Courteney is to be family with Courteney.“Aniston continued. “From the very beginning, when we met her, she was immediately inclusive, warm, loving, interested in everything about you. And she was very nervous to meet her because she was such a big fan of hers.” Kudrow added: “She was the only one of the cast who was famous. We all followed suit“.
Cox herself thanked her former teammates for their support, recalling that “‘Friends’ taught me the importance of camaraderie and staying together. These friendships were at the most important time of my life, and we went through a lot together,” she said. “And taught me to be there for each other. I know, that’s the song: ‘I’ll be there for you’ [‘I’ll be there for you’]. But it’s true. Everyone wanted the best for everyone.”
The actress receives this recognition in the middle of an advertising campaign for ‘Scream 6’the new installment of one of the highest grossing and successful horror sagas of recent years.
