The singer spoke to “Estadão” about her expectations for the performance at GRLS Festival!, which will be held on March 4 and 5 in São Paulo
The last time the singer Tinash was in Brazil in 2015, to open a concert of Katy Perry at Pedreira Paulo Leminski, in Curitiba. She is now ready to return to the center of attention.
You will be the main attraction of the GRLS Festival!which takes place this weekend at Sports Center Tiete In St. Paul. The artist will close the event on Sunday 5 March, from 8.45pm.
“I’ve wanted to go back to Brazil since the last time I was there. I’m so excited to see my fans again, to connect with everyone. I can’t wait. I’ve been waiting for this moment,” Tinashe says in an interview with Stadium.
Born in the state of Kentucky, USA, the singer has been in show business since she was 3 years old. She was a model, member of a Girl bandvoice actress and also an actress, but has discovered that music – and above all creative freedom – is her greatest passion.
In 2019, he left the label RCA become an independent artist. With songs that circulate between pop and R & B, she released, in 2021, the album 333which will be the main work presented during his exhibition in the country.
“I’ve been digging into social media, Twitter and other platforms to see what fans are saying about what songs they want to hear and what they want to see in the set list. I’ve added a few songs and changed a few things, so I think they’ll be very excited about the songs I’ve chosen to play,” he reveals.
Tinashe promises that the performance will be different from the ones she did during her tour of Europe and the US in 2022: “I think this time it will be something totally new for people.”
GRLS Festival!
This is only the second edition of the GRLS! Festival, which debuted in São Paulo in 2020 with concerts by artists such as little mix, Kylie Minogue, Gaby Amarantos AND Ludmilla.
The purpose of the event is to highlight the female presence in music, with only women in the lineup. “There are so many festivals that don’t have enough women on the bill, so it’s exciting to see a festival that celebrates women,” says Tinashe.
The singer says she’s excited to see the work of the other artists performing at the event. Among the attractions are the American jojothe Minister of Culture Margaret Menezes, Manu Gavassi, hard to beat AND sandywhich closes the festival on Saturday 4.
For Tinashe, the event is also an opportunity to “expand musical horizons”. Speaking of the Brazilian ones, she reveals: “I’d like to maybe collaborate with someone one day. It will be nice to meet people and make friends”.
More than anything, the singer is eager to reconnect with her fans in person. “It’s one thing to see support online, but it’s definitely so much better when you see the love coming from people, when you can feel the energy coming out of them.”
Furthermore, he stresses that it is “an honor” to feel this affection away from his country. “It’s great to have support at home, but when you go to a country that far away and you still have that love and support, it’s definitely an emotional feeling.”
