Bruce Willis has been seen in public two weeks after his family said he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
The Hollywood star was snapped in Santa Monica, California on Thursday, March 2 with two friends as they passed by a cafe.
According to information from The Grosby Group agency, Willis ” he looked a bit confused as he passed her car”, so one of his friends would have to point him in the right direction.
The actor wore a casual outfit: jeans, sneakers, a sweatshirt and a gray beanie.
It is the first time that Bruce Willis has been caught by the paparazzi since announcing his health condition.
It was in March 2022 when his family announced that the protagonist of the “Die hard” saga had been diagnosed with aphasia.
After almost a year of studies and medical monitoring, experts found that the aphasia was only a symptom, since the actor’s condition is frontotemporal dementia (FTD, the acronym in English).
Emma Heming, the actor’s wife, and the actor’s five daughters explained in a press release posted Feb. 16 on their respective Instagram accounts that the star’s illness continues to progress, but at least they now have a “clear diagnosis.”
“Since we announced Bruce’s aphasia diagnosis in the spring of 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).”
“Unfortunately, the challenges with communication are just a symptom of the illness Bruce is dealing with. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis,” is part of what is detailed in the text.
Dr. Juan explained to Despierta América that frontotemporal dementia affects “a person’s behavior, personality, ability to communicate, language” and shared that there is no cure or cure, so the disease will progress. However, he noted that Bruce Willis “may live (many) years” but ” its daily operation will be affected“.
