Out of TV Globo for almost 20 years, she says she has seen unpleasant situations alongside celebrities
Karina Bacchi became famous in the 2000s thanks to the legendary telenovelas of TV Globo; the most remembered character of her is Tina, from The color of sin . She nearly 20 years later and a convert to the evangelical religion, she admits she has no desire to return to serials. In an interview with “YAHPodCast” published in March last year, the former actress said that the lack of identification with the practices of some people in the artistic environment made her lose the desire to be in this type of production .
“From the beginning, I didn’t fit into that environment. The few parties I went to, I felt like a fish out of water. I didn’t have that thing of partying, going out, partying. I was comfortable with that, because I already had an essence with me that didn’t match”, guarantees Karina.
Karina also reported on a party at a director’s house, where she says she came across actors using drugs and having orgies. “Parties where you go to the bathroom quickly and when you open the wrong door you come across a table with drugs, cocaine, one with the other, with three, with four… I swear, a party at the director’s house. I got there , I saw these things and I said: ‘it is not possible!’ Actors who are in soap operas. And all of that took away my pleasure from acting,” said Bacchi, who was one of Jair Bolsonaro’s supporters in the last election.
In addition to not feeling comfortable with what she saw at private parties, Karina said she also lost the desire to act after she started “judging” characters.
“As interesting as it is for us to play a character, experience another story, I started weighing some things like: What example is this character setting? This comes out of my mouth, but it’s so bad, I would never talk about it Why am I going to speak in character?” he asked.
Married to Amaury Nunes at the time of this interview, Karina also highlighted the need to do kissing and sex scenes as something that kept her away from the profession. “In the Bible, we see that God is not pleased with adultery. A married actress who is going to play a scene where she has to kiss, hug… Isn’t that considered adultery? I think it would go against what the Bible says. This is one thing that got me very conflicted,” she said.
