Evanna Lynch, who gave life to Luna Lovegood in the film saga, has made new comments, three years after her previous intervention.
Evanna Lynchthe actress who gave life to Luna Lovegood in the ‘Harry Potter’ film saga, has made new comments on the JK Rowling controversy, arose as a result of his transphobic comments on Twitter.
The interpreter spoke to The Telegraphin a recent interview, and recalled the controversy that the British author’s publications had caused in 2020.
“I feel that she has always been devoted to the most vulnerable members of society.,” Lynch commented. “The problem is that there is a disagreement on who is the most vulnerable. I wish people would be more gentle and listen to her.”
For those unrelated to the matter, in short, Rowling launched a series of comments, through her social networks, that questioned (categorically and ironically) the reality of the transsexual community. After this, her fans reacted strongly and denounced the situation.
Among the voices that were raised against the author, Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint could be found. (the three protagonists responsible for giving life to the characters that Rowling herself had written), who spoke out publicly in defense of the trans collective. “They are who they say they are and deserve to live their lives without being constantly questioned,” they shared.
At the time, Lynch herself was also joining the discussion, commenting: “I think it is irresponsible to talk about such a delicate topic, through Twitter, with fragmented messages. And I wish Jo didn’tshe tweeted in 2020. “That being said, being a friend and fan of Jo’s, I can’t get over how generous and caring a person she is.”
After these comments, the actress closed her account on the social network. Now, three years after the conversation, Lynch explained her contributions (also for The Telegraph):
“I was very innocent when I got into that discussion,” he told the publication. “I didn’t even know there were two sides. He had a vision of good and evil. He feels compassion for both sides of the debate. I know what it’s like to be a teenager who hates his body so much that he wishes he could get out from under his skin. I feel great compassion for the trans collective, I don’t want to add to their pain.”
All the ‘Harry Potter’ movies are available on streaming on HBO Max.
