Jenna Ortega has parodied ‘The Exorcist’ on the mythical American comedy show SNL
Jenna Ortega is monopolizing, at 20 years old, the cinema and the horror series for herself. ‘Insidious 2’, ‘Studio 666’, ‘The Babysitter: Killer Queen’, ‘X’, ‘Wednesday’, The new ‘Scream’ movies… The young actress does not stop and has become the scream queen of a new generation, and the mythical program of sketches ‘Saturday Night Live’ wanted to take advantage of it parodying next to her the one who is, possibly, Best Horror Movie of All Time: ‘The Exorcist’.
Ortega replaces Linda Blair as “the girl from ‘The Exorcist'” in a funny sketch in which we see it possessed, levitating, uttering insults and blaspheming while her neighbor, tired of not being able to sleep because of the screams, performs an exorcism on her in her own way.

The truth is that Jenna Ortega would not be out of place in the reboot of ‘The Exorcist’ planned by the director of the new ‘Halloween’ trilogy, David Gordon Green, together with Blumhouse. The first of the new sequels (the idea is to also make another trilogy) stars Leslie Odom Jr. (‘Hamilton’) as a character who seeks the help of Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn, reprising her role as Reagan’s mother) after his son has been possessed.
Filming of this direct sequel to ‘The Exorcist’ (1973) has already finishedand ignores the irregular second part of 1977 and the underrated third installment of 1990 directed by the author of the original novel William Peter Blatty, as well as the disaster that was the entire production of ‘The Exorcist: The Beginning’ (2004) and its different versions due to disputes between Paul Schrader, the original director, and the studio that replaced him with Renny Harlin.

‘The Exorcist’ will be released worldwide in the Halloween campaign, on Friday, October 13, 2023. Ortega, however, we can see right now on the big screen starring in the sixth installment of ‘Scream’, and possibly in the near future, in ‘Bitelchús 2’, the film that will bring together Jenna Ortega and Tim Burton after ‘Wednesday’ . In addition, Jenna Ortega will also adapt ‘The House of Bernarda Alba’ by Federico García Lorca. Work is not lacking…
