Just six months after the deadly tragedy at his Astroworld Music Festival, Travis Scott appeared freezing (very cold) during his first post-incident awards show at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.
The rapper performed the plays “Mafia” and “Lost Forever” with a snowcamera in a house in a snowstorm. Scott and a group of dancers, dressed in white and fur, performed inside the fence, scaling high cliffs and snow.
From time to time, the screen would go black, and Scott and his dancers would appear in black and white on a black background.
The performance ended with the dancers attacking the camera, and the camera swung in front of the audience.
Scott made his first public appearance in Miami last week at various private events and parties following the Astroworld tragedy.
He also plans to perform at the Spring Festival in South America next fall, marking his return to the festival stages.
On November 5, during a play by Scott during his annual Astroworld festival at Houston’s NRG Park, a mob erupted, killing 10 people with compression asphyxiation and injuring hundreds more.
After the tragedy, Scott’s appearance at the Coachella and Day N Vegas festivals was canceled and his collaboration with Dior was cancelled.
The lawsuit over the incident was filed in a large courtroom, with more than 4,900 people potentially injured at the festival, according to lawyers for the victims.
Billboard Music Awards host Sean “Big” Combs said he personally asked NBC for Scott to appear at the awards show.
Talking advertising panel Ahead of Sunday night’s show, Didi said Scott and country artist Morgan Wallen, who received comments and results from her run after a video surfaced in which she used the N word, said she had “canceled it”.
“The mood of the show is about love and forgiveness. As a musical family, none of us are saints; “None of us is without something going on in our lives,” Didi said. “So one of the things I do directly is cancel the cancellation. This is new news because people weren’t talking about cancellation. But cancellation is a trend that needs to stop. Travis suffered a tragedy; Morgan [used the N-word] Talking to her boyfriend. People make mistakes. We now continue to love and respect everyone who has been hurt or hurt. It’s time to forgive. That Morgan and Travis can come back and take the stage again with the idea of having a second chance at life. Everyone in the room gets a second chance at life, you know, because we come back without masks. We need love and I’m excited to celebrate it. ”
Scott was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Song at the 2022 BBMAs for “Goosebumps”, but lost to Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart”.
The 2022 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on NBC at 8pm ET / 5pm PT. The show was also broadcast live on Peacock.
