This Friday, March 24, Gomez posted a text on her Instagram stories in which, without going into details, she recounted what the model said to her when they spoke.
“Hailey Bieber contacted me and informed me that she has been receiving threats on her life and hateful negativity,” he began on his account.
“That’s not what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate and harassment,” said Selena, who has been the victim of “body shaming” on multiple occasions.
“I’ve always stood for kindness and I really want this to end,” he shouted to end his writing, which featured a red heart emoji.
The actress furthered the act of kinship by becoming a follower on this famous app of Hailey, who later did the same for her.

Hours after Gomez’s message went viral, Alec Baldwin’s niece used the same medium to express her gratitude and weigh in on the matter.
“I want to thank Selena for speaking up as we’ve been discussing over the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between me and her,” he said.
Last February, the businesswoman was heavily criticized for allegedly mocking, along with Kylie Jenner, the “Calm down” singer.
Gomez shared on a TikTok that she accidentally licked her eyebrows a lot. Soon after, Jenner posted a photo of her own eyebrows on Instagram Stories with the caption, “Was that an accident?”
Kylie also uploaded a screenshot, taken during a video call with Hailey. As both of them appear very close to the camera, netizens claimed that they were making fun of Selena.
Although Kim Kardashian’s sister denied the allegations, both she and her friend continued to stand out.
In their recent reflection, the Bieber couple apparently addressed this controversy by stating that the past few days have been “very difficult” for everyone “involved.”
“And millions of people see so much hate around it that it’s extremely damaging,” he said.
“While social media is an amazing way to connect and build community, moments like this only create extreme division instead of bringing people together.”
Selena pointed out that “things can always be taken out of context or interpreted in a different way than what was intended,” so everyone, including herself, “needs to be more careful about what we post or say.”
“In the end, I believe that love will always be greater than hate and negativity and there is always an opportunity to find each other with more empathy and compassion,” he concluded.
Speculations that Selena and Hailey dislike each other arose because of the romance the model started with Justin after she broke up with the ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ star a few years ago.
