Just like at the premiere in the USA, now Tom also flew in by helicopter, but additionally during the red carpet, fighter jets swept over the actors and the entire Cote d’Azur, which painted the sky in the colors of the French flag.
On the stage of the Palais des Festivals and Congresses before the start of the show, 59-year-old Tom Cruise received the honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
Top Gun: Maverick is a sequel to the 1986 film of the same name. True, now, thirty years later, Pete Mitchell, nicknamed Maverick, while remaining one of the best pilots in the Navy, is also teaching young people. In the new film, Tom Cruise’s character is almost obsessed with his love of flying, which is why he avoids promotion at all costs, because in this case he will have to “land” forever and work at the headquarters. In addition to Cruise, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Connelly, Val Kilmer, Ed Harris and Miles Teller played in Joseph Kosinski’s film. The soundtrack for the film was written by Cruise’s close friend Lady Gaga. The film will be released worldwide on May 27.
