Journalist Ricardo Feltrin blames “feminist militancy” for the site’s firing

Feltrin said he came under pressure when he tried to publicize an interview with Marcius Melhem; the portal preferred not to comment on the story

the journalist Ricardo Feltrin revealed that he was fired from the portal UOL due to what she called “feminist militancy” in the newsroom, after disagreements over the coverage of the Marcius Melhem case. The statement was made in a radio interview. MetropolisTuesday 25.

Feltrin said she had a hard time publicizing an interview she did with the comedian two months after the sexual harassment allegations were revealed.

“I received this interview in writing, I emailed it, and he replied. It took UOL a day to block this interview. It was the first time I’ve seen it, because even the park maniac has the right to speak, Roger Abdelmassih also had the right to speak,” he said, referring to the case of the doctor sentenced to 181 years in prison for raping patients.

The reporter added that only “after much pressure” was the interview published. In it, according to Feltrin, Melhem said, “Dani Calabresa lied and acted in revenge.”

Feltrin added that he now defines himself as an “independent journalist”. On his social profile, he has long been announcing lives in the Marcius Melhem case which, according to what he said in an interview, he is allegedly undergoing the greatest “conspiracy” in the “history of the press”.

OR Earth contacted the UOL portal, which preferred not to comment on the story. The date of dismissal has not been confirmed, but on the portal it is possible to see that the latest collaboration made by Feltrin was published on the 19th of this month, precisely on the Melhem case.

remember the case

Comedian Marcius Melhem is accused of sexual harassment by eight women. The latest to report was the actress Carol Pontes, who participated in the humorous program ‘Tá no Ar’. The first complaint was made in 2019, and concerned the name of Dani Calabresa, who was one of those who came out the most to talk about the case.

In 2020, Globo terminated his contract with Melhem, despite not directly mentioning the harassment allegations in announcing the comedian’s resignation.

The case has not yet been heard in court and Melhem recently accused Calabresa of trying to delay the action he is bringing against him. In the same month that he released this statement, Dani Calabresa appeared along with 10 other colleagues detailing the harassment allegations. Marcelo Adnet, the comedian’s ex-husband, and Eduardo Sterblicht also attended.

Also this year, director Maurício Farias, former director of ‘Zorra’ and ‘Tá no Ar’, spoke about moral abuse incidents involving Marcius Melhem behind the scenes of Globo.
