All eyes that evening were riveted to Maria Melnikova. A bright brunette in brilliant – literally and figuratively – outfits seems to be born for hot Latin dances. Maria demonstrated brilliant plasticity and frenzied energy at the tournament, impressed the judges of the competition and the guests of the festival, among whom were Jony, Andro, Ekaterina Varnava and, of course, her loving husband Mot, who did not take his eyes off his wife all the time of the tournament.
Maria and her partner danced a Latin American program that included five dances. It started with a dynamic and very beautiful cha-cha-cha, then switched to an incendiary samba, then a passionate rumba, followed by a temperamental paso doble and a cheerful driving jive. In her social networks after the tournament, Maria thanked both dance partner Takha and coaches Evgeniy Smagin and Polina Kazachenko.
