It appears that despite mobility issues, the 96-year-old queen is determined to allay fears of an imminent transfer of the throne. Yesterday Her Majesty attended the world famous flower show in the historic district of Chelsea, London, organized by the Royal Horticultural Society. Acting as the patron of the organization, she has visited this annual event more than 50 times.
The Queen arrived at the exhibition in her new four-seater high-speed Rolls Royce golf cart worth 62,000 pounds (4 million 487 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate). The car runs on batteries and can travel up to 80 kilometers before it needs to be recharged. It is believed that the queen for the first time in 10 years appears in public in such a transport. Her Majesty was last seen riding a buggy nine years ago, in 2013 at the Coronation Festival in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, and earlier in 2011 during the Queen’s Australian tour when she visited Government House in Canberra.

Her Majesty appeared at the event in a consistently bright image – a fuchsia coat, a dress with a floral print, a pearl necklace and black moccasins – and traveled on a buggy over 10 flowering gardens, after which she made an official statement.
I am glad that John Istumlin’s rose was planted in the gardens of Buckingham Palace today. This flower was bred as a sign of friendship and community, and I hope that guests and visitors to the garden will have the opportunity to reflect on what this rose represents for them, she said.
Other members of the royal family also attended the Chelsea Flower Show: the Earl and Countess Edward and Sophie of Wessex, as well as Princess Beatrice, accompanied by her husband Eduardo Mapelli Mozzi.

It should be noted that less than 10 days are left before the main celebrations dedicated to the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth’s reign. It is known that official celebrations are likely to take place without her. In different countries of the United Kingdom, Her Majesty will be represented by Prince William and Kate Middleton, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Countess Sophie of Wessex. However, the queen will certainly traditionally go out onto the balcony of Buckingham Palace with her family.
In recent months, the queen has been forced to cancel a number of meetings, and in early May she missed the official opening of a new session of parliament. At the event, she was replaced by 73-year-old Prince Charles, who read a speech on behalf of Elizabeth, and 39-year-old Prince William.
However, earlier last week, Her Majesty went out three times. First, she visited the stables in Windsor, literally a day later – the closing of the Royal Horse Show and concurrently the first celebration in the series of celebrations of the Platinum Anniversary of the Board, and later Elizabeth opened a railway line named after her.
