People reports that the BBC is preparing to release a documentary about the life of Elizabeth, timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of her reign. The tape is called “Elizabeth: The Unseen Queen” (“Elizabeth: The Unseen Queen”) and will include films with the brightest moments from the life of the young queen. Especially for the project, the royal family took the unprecedented step of giving the BBC exclusive access to the archives.

Unexpectedly for everyone on May 19, Her Majesty shared her own thoughts on camera, and these shots will also fall into the 70-minute film. She revealed some intimate details of her youth, including behind-the-scenes details of the coronation.

You always hope that future generations will find them interesting and perhaps be surprised that you too were once young, she says in the film.

Viewers will see previously unknown footage: from dancing Elizabeth and her sister, Princess Margaret in matching blue dresses to a family picnic in Scotland and the Queen’s first overseas trip to South Africa. By the way, on the footage that got into the official trailer, you can also see the young Prince Philip – he and Elizabeth are on a boat crossing Loch Ness, Scotland, shortly before the wedding.

Rumor has it that the queen herself has already managed to watch the final cut, but there is no official confirmation of this. For all viewers, the picture will be released on the iPlayer service on May 29.

Recall that due to health problems, Her Majesty missed most of the important events of the current year, to the point that there were rumors about the imminent transfer of the throne. However, Elizabeth is in no hurry to resign, and although, according to official statements from Buckingham Palace, she experiences difficulties in moving, in recent weeks she has often been published.
