Actress Erika Januza shared a special memory with her Instagram followers this Thursday 1: the video of her “surprise audition” for the series outskirts. In the images, she appears parading on a street in Contagem, in Minas Gerais, where he lived.
As she said this Thursday, she thought the shoot was part of a test run for a model and not for the Globo production cast.
“I’m very, very grateful for this opportunity that changed my story. The next trajectory was not easy. But it was the hand God extended to me after listening to me so much and seeing how stubborn I am,” she recalled.
At the time of the test, Erika was working as a school secretary.
“I ran after my dreams a lot. A LOT. I had my own way and always thought that one day someone would find me. I ALWAYS THINKED,” she wrote in the publication’s caption.
In the miniseries Globo, released in 2012, she played the protagonist Conceição, a young black woman who, as a child, escaped from work in conditions similar to slavery in the interior of Minas Gerais and emigrated to the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro. In the capital city of Rio de Janeiro, she struggles to keep her dignity and dreams of her in a journey full of challenges.
At the age of 26, Erika Januza was already making some extras, but to support herself she worked in a school and as a dancer in a samba school.
