On the veranda of the club “Simach in Nedalne” designer Denis Simachev and world champion contender Sergey Karyakin played one of the most unusual chess matches. The game was timed to coincide with the release of watches that appeared as a result of the creative union of the Raketa watch factory and Simachev. This is a unique tool, designed not so much for the usual measurement of time, but for its careful understanding. The Russian cosmos, which resists the chaos of the surrounding world, offers a non-linear way to comprehend reality, directing the movement of thought along an unusual route.
Russia cannot be understood with the mind, a thesis that is fully shared by Denis Simachev and Raketa.
These lines by Fyodor Tyutchev, engraved on the back of the watch, are one of the main keys to understanding the meaning of the release. The unusualness of the “RAKETA SIMACH” watch, presented to the public for the first time at the event, was emphasized by the unusualness of the match itself. Instead of the usual chess pieces on the board, in addition to kings, there were only horses. According to the plan of the organizers, this was to some extent equalize the chances of the grandmaster and the designer. The game lasted one hour and 20 minutes and ended with the victory of Sergey Karyakin.
The guests of the event were Svetlana Bondarchuk, Yulia Bordovskikh, Nadezhda Strelets, Polina Askeri, Evgenia Linovich, Dmitry Dyuzhev and many others.
