Via his statement on InstagramDepp noted: “Six years ago, my life, the lives of my children, the lives of those closest to me and also the lives of the people who for many, many years have supported me and believed in me changed forever, all in the blink of an eye. False, very serious and criminal allegations were made against me through the media, which triggered an endless barrage of hateful content, although no charges were ever brought against me. I had already circled the world twice in a millisecond and it had a seismic impact on my life and career. And six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I feel truly honored.”

The actor added that his decision to pursue the case came after much thought as he was aware of the legal hurdles he would face and the inevitable world spectacle in his life. “From the beginning, the goal of bringing this case was to reveal the truth, regardless of the outcome. […] I feel at peace knowing that I have achieved it”Depp acknowledged. Furthermore, he stated that he has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support and kindness and hopes that his performance will encourage other men or women who have found themselves in his situation to do the same.

On the other hand, his lawyer Camille Vasquez he noted as he left the courtroom that the verdict confirmed what they had claimed all along. “We are grateful, very grateful, to the jury, to the judge and to the court staff who have invested an enormous amount of time and resources in this case.”he claimed.

Looking at it from the other side of the coin, Amber Heard also shared a statement on her social networks shortly after the case came to an end. She defined it as a “throwback for women” in every way. The actress wrote the following: “The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I am heartbroken that the mountain of evidence was still not enough to stand up to the power and influence of my ex-husband.”
