Manoel Soares was born in Salvador, Bahia on June 18, 1979. He lived in the favela called Baixa Fria, which is located within another complex of favelas called Boca do Rio, until he was 8 years old. In his youth he lived on the streets and his life was transformed by art, initially through rhymes.
