Journalist Tiago Leifert has been criticized on social media
James Leifert was blasted by netizens after reporting the death of Gabriela Ringshit in the neck by a glass bottle on the outskirts of the Allianz Parque, just before the match between Palmeiras and Flamengo.
Some people pointed out that the journalist spread fake news and tried to blame the tragedy on the fan.
“Palmeiras fans approached them and the fight started. Glass shards flew and captured her. She’s from Mancha Verde [torcida organizada]. He wasn’t at the ticket office entering the stadium, he was outside with those fans outside. There is a good part of the organization that remains in the street to hit passers-by “ the reporter said.
However, contrary to what Leifert reported, the confusion did not take place in Rua Caraíbas, but in Rua Padre Antônio Tomaz. Furthermore, Leifert has lost the victim: she was in the queue to enter the stadium and was not directly involved in the brawl between rival fans.
“What I just heard is not possible… TIAGO LEIFERT YOU ARE COARD! FAKE NEWS IS A CRIME”, said one pointed to a netizen.
“Tiago Leifert’s speech is frightening, primarily because he has no commitment TO THE TRUTH”wrote another;
“NOJO of this boy. He doesn’t enter a stadium and wants to teach what happens or not in the surroundings”roared a third.
