J. Randy Taraborrelli’s new book reveals Marilyn called Jackie four months before her death
Marilyn Monroe allegedly made a “creepy” phone call to Jackie Kennedy four months before his death. The new revelation was made by the author J. Randy Taraborrelli to Fox News, responsible for the new book about the former first lady of the United States, “Jackie: Public, Private, Secret”.

According to the author, the call happened in April 1962. Marilyn allegedly called to talk John F. Kennedythe former US president, however, who answered was JFK’s wife.
“There was something about that phone call”, Taraborrelli said. “After her [Jackie] she told family members that there was a creepy quality to Marilyn’s voice that really stuck with her… And it’s not like they had any kind of deep conversation… But it’s been 10 years of wondering, was it really Marilyn Monroe? And that noise stayed with the family.”
“Is Jack (nickname of the president) home?”, Monroe asked, according to information in the book. Jackie said no and asked who she was calling. “Marilyn Monroe”he replied, then asked: “Is that Jackie?”
When the first lady said yes, the actress asked if she would tell the president she called. Jackie asked what it was and Marilyn said it was “nothing fancy”. She just wanted to say “hello”. Then Jackie Kennedy said she would pass the message and hung up.
According to the publication, the call was placed to a private number and went directly to Kennedy’s bedroom phone. This was the only line not connected or monitored by Secret Service agents.
Later, Jackie told her mother that while the call was “uncomfortable,” the actress’s voice had a “sad, ethereal, lost little girl” quality to it, which she found “unsettling.”
taraborrelli wrote: “Jackie has never been the type to say to Marilyn, ‘How dare you call here.’ She didn’t have that kind of personality. She was more the type to be polite and hang up, which is exactly what she did.”
If it was Elizabeth Taylor or any other movie star, there wouldn’t be much intrigue. Even if she were one of the other women JFK was in a relationship with, there still wouldn’t be much intrigue.”
In the book, the author points out that JFK and Monroe became sexually involved in March 1962 and that the relationship would last “just a weekend”. The phone call, therefore, would have been a month later. “JFK had so many cases that Jackie probably thought it was more than just a weekend”said the writer.
“Jack (JFK) and I talked about her”, the Senator remembered George Smathersas quoted in Taraborrelli’s work. “He thought she was pretty, but maybe not the smartest girl alive. He liked her sense of humor and playfulness.” He noted that the First Lady was “more serious,” so it was fun to be with a woman who “just wasn’t.”
The alleged story experienced by Monroe and President Kennedy has been confirmed and denied several times over the years. In 2012, the biographer Jason Sword he told People that President Kennedy passed the actress on to his brother, Robert Kennedy, after he tired of the romance, even though “it was pretty clear Marilyn had sex with Bobby and JFK.”
