Gabriel Monteiro is arrested on charges of rape

Former Councilor of Rio de Janeiro Gabriel Monteiro he got married inside the prison where he is being held. He was accused of rape by a 22-year-old.

The document, registered at the 24th notary office in Rio de Janeiro, confirms the marriage of Gabriel and Ana Carolina on May 10.

The couple have lived in a stable union since 13 September 2022 and were married under a total separation of property regime.

“In mutual company, in stable union, as if they were civilly married, in respect, love and dedication, helping each other with difficulty, in a true communion of interests to obtain the common good and the establishment of a house, which although not legally constituted, has been perfect up to the present date”says an excerpt from the document.

Gabriel and Ana have been together since before his arrest, which was arrested on November 7, 2022. The victim who accuses him claims that she was forced to have sex with the former MP, who allegedly attacked her and threatened her with a gun.
