Sidney Sampaio Reveals Future Plans After Rio Crash: ‘Medical School’

Sidney Sampaio reassured his fans last Sunday (27/8) in an interview for the newspaper O Globo. The “Ten Commandments” actor said he was recovering from the crash earlier this month and revealed he has plans beyond his small screen career.

“I am very well. The recovery is excellent. I am followed and guided by my doctors. I can only thank you,” he told the Play column. The artist highlighted the enterprise of his son Leonardo, fruit of his relationship with Juliana Gama, in the recovery phase.

Sampaio also talked about his future plans as a possible healthcare professional: As soon as my recovery is complete, I already have plans waiting for me. I want to focus on my career and finish my medical school.”

Sidney Sampaio incident

At the beginning of August, Sidney Sampaio threw himself from the window of a hotel located in Copacabana, in the south of Rio de Janeiro. Before falling, the actor allegedly destroyed the room in which he was staying and knocked on the doors of other lodgings, causing an uproar in the establishment.

The 43-year-old actor was rescued by firefighters and taken to the emergency room of the Miguel Couto hospital, where he was diagnosed with two fractures, but without surgical indications. He considered it a “miracle” that he survived the accident with only a few fractures.

He also revealed to “Domingo Espetacular” that he had mixed vodka with sleeping pills the night before. “Do not self-medicate. We have this habit. In Brazil everyone is a bit of a doctor (laughs). But the consequences can be very unpleasant, as they were with me,” he complained.
