The singer from Rio Lexa took her admirers by surprise when she revealed in a podcast that she is dealing with an autoimmune disease. In an interview with PodPeople this week, the funk singer opened up about her Hashimoto’s thyroiditis diagnosis.




“When I received the diagnosis I was very sad” the artist began. “I went for some tests requested by my gynecologist. I discovered that I have a disease called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. My memory seems to be a little short, I forget all the time. I noticed some things, but the forgetfulness was the worst of all .” “He explained.

The host of the attraction, who is also a psychiatrist, Ana Beatriz Barbosa, said this disease occurs when antibodies attack the thyroid, the gland that speeds up metabolism.
