Britney Spears revealed she had an abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake in her autobiography, The woman in mewhich will be released on October 24 in the United States.
In the book, the singer shared the story for the first time and reported that the decision to terminate the pregnancy was motivated by her then-boyfriend, Timberlake, who at the time “didn’t want to be a father.”
“It was a surprise, but for me it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always hoped that one day we would have a family together. It would be much sooner than I expected. “To this day, it is one of the most painful things I have ever experienced in my life,” the singer wrote.
“But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were too young. I don’t know if it was the right decision. If he had been left to me alone, I never would have done it. Justin was very clear that he didn’t want to be a father,” he explained.
Britney and Justin Timberlake were in a relationship from 1999 to 2002. In 2005, the singer had her first child Sean Preston, the following year she gave birth to Jayden, both as a result of her relationship with Kevin Federline.
